The Stettler Figure Skating Club’s year-end carnival was titled “Musicals on Ice”.
Skaters from different age groups performed at the Rec Centre to songs from famous musicals like Aladdin, Lion King and High School Musical.
The show started with the opening number, with music from Mama Mia. The younger skaters were all in costume. For example, young skaters dressed like lions performed to music from The Lion King.
We learned that Katie Wengryn dislocated her kneecap during one of her skates and was unable to finish that performance. She was able to come back for the closing number after her kneecap popped back in!
She is one of the graduates this year so we’re glad she was able to finish the show. Thanks to the Stettler Figure Skating club who had us there to film the carnival!
