For avid aurora watchers, alerts were going off and Kp 9 forecasts had everyone abuzz with excitement on May 10 & 11.
A kp-index of 9 indicates a high chance of strong Northern Lights. Even for those not necessarily aurora followers, you couldn’t help but hear the talk of the solar flare phenomenon that could potentially put on a once in a lifetime aurora showing.
For those lucky enough to stay up and go out to see for themselves, it was a show worthy of all the talk!
