It was a busy Friday afternoon over at the HYC. The organization celebrated their 40th anniversary with a block party on September 20th.
Over 100 people turned out for the occasion, including several alumni of the Heartland Youth Centre over the years. Past Keystone & Torch members could go through over a dozen photo albums and reminisce about their time at the youth centre.
The Stettler Wellness Network, Stettler Adult Learning Centre, & Central Alberta Pregnancy Centre were also on hand for a resource fair to inform people about their available services.
First started as Big Brothers Big Sisters in 1984, the group amalgamated with the Boys & Girls Club in 1991 to become the Heartland Youth Centre.
In 2023, the HYC announced they were parting ways with Big Brothers Big Sisters.
