The Performing Arts Centre was full for Remembrance Day as folks came out to pay tribute to those who’ve served. The program began with the a rendition of O Canada, and a moment of silence for those lost in conflicts overseas.

Pastor Ross Helgeton spoke about the meaning of war, and the impacts it had on those he had met throughout his life.

Following the annual wreath laying, the crowd heard from local CAF Cpl. Hunter Maginn. He spoke of his desire to join the military after hearing of the bravery of his grandfather and his friends during the Korean War.

“The Man We Never Knew” was played as poppies were dropped on the cross on the stage, and those who’ve served were honoured with a round of applause from the audience.

After the service, the Stettler Legion held a luncheon open for everyone to attend.
