A delegation from the Heartland Youth Centre attended on Nov 19, as their annual budget came before council.

The organisation has undergone changes in the last year, as they are no longer affiliated with Big Brothers Big Sisters.

The group spoke about their recent peer review conducted by the Boys & Girls Club of Canada.

The staff were pleased with the report they received back on the group’s governance structure & operational standards.

The H-Y-C has 352 registered members, ages 6-18 taking part in over 22 programs.

They hold two major fundraisers each year in the Bowl For Kids & Awesome Auction.

After hearing from a local mentor & mentee, council approved the $50,000 request to fund the Heartland Youth Centre from their 2025 Operating Budget.
