The Stettler Imperials played back-to-back games on the road last weekend.

The offense went to work.

On December 13, the team travelled to Forestburg for a match with the Flyers. The game started close. After one period, it was 2-2. Ben Roth of the Flyers scored a powerplay goal one minute into the second period, and the Flyers took the lead. That lead was short-lived. Under two minutes later, the Imperials tied up the game as JJ Fournier scored his third of the season. The Imperials would add three more in the second to take a 6-3 lead into the third period. The Imperials scored two in the third period and defeated the Flyers 8-3.

The next night, the Imperials travelled to Delburne in what would be called the Snowflake Saturday. Stettler had a big first period, scoring four unanswered and lead 4-0 after the first period. In the second period, Adam Ternes of the Imperials scored two goals before the Delburne Outlaws finally got on the board halfway through the second period. The Outlaws tried to start a comeback when Layne Harty scored to make it a four-goal game. Stettler wouldn’t allow a comeback and kept putting more pucks in the back of the Delburne net and won the game 9-3. The Imperials are on a 4-game winning streak.

The Imperials are back on the ice at home on December 21 when they play the Irma Aces. It’s the rescheduled game from November. Afterward, it’s the big Night Before The Night Before game that has become a great tradition in Stettler. The Imperials host the Delburne outlaws on December 23.

Both upcoming home games will be broadcast on Hometown Productions & Media’s YouTube channel.
