
Stettler County Council approved their nearly 29.8 million dollar budget during their first regular meeting of 2025. (Jan 8)
The 2025-2028 budget document proposes a 3% increase to both residential and non-residential taxes, as well as a 5% increase to farmland taxes.
An open house was held on Dec 18 to present the 2025 Budget, following workshops held in October and November.
The County of Stettler passed their interim budget on Dec 11, to allow for payroll and expenses to continue into the new year until the budget was approved.
Municipalities are required to have three year written plans of their financial operations, as well as anticipated capital expenditures for the next five years.
These tax rate increases are not finalized, as they will be set in May once property tax assessments have been received.
