Stettler County Council has voted to change their meeting date schedule to instead meet twice a month for regular council.
For a number of years, council has met for regular council on the second Wednesday of the month, followed by a municipal planning commission meeting on the fourth Thursday of the month.
Administration made the suggestion due to a handful of special council meetings needing to be called in 2024, outside of regular council meetings.
Council noted the monthly agenda continues to grow in size, and that the public expects them to be able to respond to issues in a timely manner.
By holding two regular council meetings a month, it should allow for more time for MPC meetings in the afternoon.
These meetings are open to the general public, aside from when the council needs to go in-camera. However, any resolutions at MPC must be brought to regular council meetings to be voted on.
