The Town of Stettler will not take part in the “Communities In Bloom” competition in 2025. The Heartland Beautification Committee met on Feb 12, with a decision on their agenda to participate in the annual contest.

Stettler joined the “Communities In Bloom” competition in 1998 and has competed at the national level since 2008.

Each spring, judges tour the town to score Stettler’s green initiatives & beautification efforts against other communities in their category. Judges evaluate these criteria and then award a bloom rating of between one to five blooms, with five being the highest.

In 2022, the Heartland Beautification Committee had $6,000 earmarked for the “Communities In Bloom” program.

Mayor Sean Nolls noted he feels Stettler has gotten value from participating in the contest over the years, but efforts could be better spent on year-round initiatives.
