The hot water tanks at the Stettler Recreation Centre are set for replacement. Stettler Town Council approved the purchase of two hot water tanks for the S-R-C during their second meeting of February. (Feb 18)
After reviewing two submissions, council awarded a $64,255.00 tender, excluding GST & electrical to Burmac Mechanical of Stettler. They will replace the hot water tank, as well as the one for the ice resurfacing machine that’s been in use since the S-R-C first opened in 1994.
Administration asked council to go with a glycol-heated boiler for the ice resurfacing machine, instead of a water heated one due to previous water scale buildup on the boiler.
$68,000 was set aside in the 2024 Capital Budget to purchase these items. Council directed administration to use the remaining funds to cover the cost of the electrical work.
