County Council took a look at priorities needed for a future fire station renovation in Stettler during their second meeting of February. (Feb 27)
The Stettler Regional Fire Department has compiled a list of future needs such as an additional bay for another fire engine, as well as increasing classroom, office & bathroom spaces.
Any upgrades to the building would need to be done in a phased construction, as the utilities need to be kept online as an emergency service facility.
The footprint of the fire hall and underground utilities also limits the ability to expand the building at ground level.
Council requested administration to bring back more information & costing proposals on what aspects the Town of Stettler & County of Stettler would each be responsible for.
