Stettler County Council will continue supporting STARS Air Ambulance in 2025.

Representatives from STARS attended council on Mar 12 to make a presentation on the air rescue service.

STARS operates six air bases across Alberta, Saskatchewan & Manitoba. Three of the bases are located in our province, in Calgary, Edmonton & Grande Prairie.

STARS are often called to assist with motor vehicle accidents, water related incidents or medical emergencies, and rely on donations from municipalities & their STARS Lottery campaign.

Following the presentation, council voted to recommit $14,000 to the air ambulance service, to come from the rural development fund.
