Stettler Regional Fire Department Chief Mark Dennis was the guest of honour during the first council meeting of April.

The Town of Stettler council made the invitation after the fire chief was recently named as a recipient of the King Charles III Coronation Medal.

Dennis was awarded the medal for his contributions to the area, by our local MLA Nate Horner during a ceremony in Edmonton on March 24, 2025.

Mayor Sean Nolls was unable to attend the council meeting, but sent a letter expressing the community’s gratitude to the fire chief.

He thanked Dennis for his years of service to the Town of Stettler & surrounding area and closed his letter by calling the chief “the firefighter kids grow up wishing to be.”

The King Charles III Coronation Medal is awarded to Canadians who’ve made significant contributions to their community, province or country.
