The boat launch at Rochon Sands Heights will remain closed at this time until the slope of the launch can be repaired.

Council heard during their April 9 meeting that marina dredging efforts have gone well over the last year, with the material collected set to be hauled to the landfill over the spring.

However, low water levels have exposed the steeper ramp slope which has county staff concerned about damages that could be incurred to boats and vehicles.

After reviewing the site on April 2, staff observed lower than expected water levels from the spring runoff, which have left the steeper ramp slope exposed.

Council approved keeping the launch closed until work on the ramp renovation is complete, and will review the water level at the lake at this time.
