The possibility of another Canada Post strike has led Stettler Town Council to move up their tax budget deliberation meeting.
During their April 15 meeting, administration explained tax notices were set to be mailed out on May 23.
However, if negotiations break down between Canada Post and their union, strike action could begin on May 22.
Council will now meet on April 29 at 4 PM for budget deliberations, with the tax bylaw to come to the May 6 meeting. This way notices could be mailed out starting on May 12.
Stettler Town Council also passed all three readings on a bylaw to allow staff to implement electronic means of communication for tax notices & assessments if a strike does occur.
