Town & County council representatives met on Monday, Apr 28 to recognize the efforts of our local volunteers.

Stettler Mayor Sean Nolls & County Reeve Larry Clarke signed a proclamation for National Volunteer Week, which is being held across Canada from Apr 27 to May 3.

Representatives from other organizations such as Home Support, FCSS & the Stettler Volunteer Centre were also present to witness the signing.

It’s estimated around 24 million Canadians volunteer their time, contributing nearly 5 billion hours in volunteer work across the country.

The proclamation recognizes local volunteers who help both the Town & County with events, but also groups such as Superfluity, Meals on Wheels and minor sports associations.

As part of National Volunteer Week, a free BBQ will be held on Friday, May 2 from 11 AM – 2 PM outside of the FCSS building on Main Street. (4720 50 St)
