Stettler County Council has passed a revised 2025 budget, with a reduction in anticipated property tax increases.
Council approved the revised budget during a special meeting called on April 30, which will see a 1 percent increase to residential & non-residential classes, as well as a 3 percent increase to farmland property taxes.

The increases will generate an additional $188,462 in revenue, as part of nearly $22.2 million ($22,199,942) expected to be raised through taxation in 2025.
The remaining $7,858,381 of the just over $30 million dollar budget ($30,058,293) will come from other sources and levels of government.
An increase in education funding from the province has adjusted the budget originally passed in February 2025.

This projected a 3 percent increase to residential & non-residential classes, and a 5 percent increase to farmland property taxes based on 2024 assessment values.
The special council meeting was called in order to approve the tax bylaw and send out property tax & assessment notices ahead of a potential Canada Post strike in late May.
