Stettler Town Council has passed their 2025 budget and tax bylaw, which calls for a 6 percent increase to property taxes.
Council approved this during their May 6 meeting, after meeting on April 29 to review the budget & 2024 audited financial statements.
The 6 percent increase applies to both residential & non-residential classes, and will generate $400,945 in additional revenue from the $10.2 million ($10,203,153) set to be collected in municipal taxes.

The Town of Stettler’s 2025 budget totals just over $23 million, ($23,211,881) of which over $13 million ($13,008,728) is provided from other sources & levels of government.

Council had moved up the schedule of their tax bylaw in order to send out notices ahead of a potential Canada Post strike later this month.
Following approval of the interim operating budget on December 17 where the 6 percent increases were proposed, council also approved increases to the water, sewer, garbage & recycling bylaws.
