Local officials came together on May 16 to sign a declaration acknowledging the efforts of our local healthcare workers.

Mayor Sean Nolls & County Coun. James Nibourg, standing in for Reeve Larry Clarke, signed the declaration to designate May 26-30, 2025 as Alberta Rural Health Week.

The acknowledgement notes the efforts of everyone from doctors and nurses to paramedics & those who volunteer their time to try and improve our healthcare system.

The public is encouraged to write thank-you cards and create lawn signs to show their appreciation for healthcare workers. Social media posts and thank you videos are also suggested using the hashtag #ABRuralHealthMatters

The provincial declaration signed by Health Minster Adriana LaGrange, notes over 18 percent of Albertans reside in rural areas, while less than 7 percent of family physicians serve these areas, underscoring the importance of improving access to healthcare in rural Alberta.
