A local youth initiative is proposing to breathe new life into the dormant snack shack at the Stettler Spray Park.
The Soaring Project, a youth-led initiative supported by the Stettler Public Library, Heartland Youth Centre, Stettler Family Resource Network & Clearview Public Schools’ Caring & Resilient Students (CARS) program, has identified the revival of the snack shack at West Stettler Park as their 2025 focus.
Under the proposal, youth volunteers aged 12 to 17 would operate the snack shack during July and August.
Ice cream would be sold during limited hours — including daily three-hour shifts and one evening shift each Wednesday.

The Soaring Project has secured A-H-S approval for food safety & permitting & has arranged for adult supervision during all operational hours.
At the end of the summer, participants would receive honorariums in recognition of their volunteer time and efforts.
During their June 3 meeting, council approved the Soaring Project’s request to operate the Spray Park snack shack from July 1 to Aug. 31, 2025, which has been inactive since 2022.
The Soaring Project team previously helped create the Dick Richards Memorial Mini Golf facility at the Stettler Town and Country Museum.
