Parks & Campground Bylaw

A new bylaw concerning parks & campgrounds was approved by Stettler Town Council during their second meeting of the month on June 17.

Director of Parks and Leisure Services, Brad Robbins, presented the bylaw to regulate the use of campgrounds, parks and public green spaces within town limits. The bylaw outlines prohibited activities, enforces quiet hours, and defines appropriate camping conduct.

Fines for violations will begin at $100 and enforcement will be carried out by both bylaw officers and the RCMP. The C.A.O will also have the authority to restrict access or close areas when necessary.

Campground Fees Policy

Amendments to campground fees were also approved with new nightly, weekly, and monthly rates for partial-service sites.

The Lions Campground has 66 sites, 23 of which are full service with power, water & sewer. 39 are partial sites, while 4 are unserviced sites.

Group bookings at the Stettler Sports Park were also included in the policy, with fees set at $600 for weekends and $800 for long weekends.
