Clearview Public Schools is looking to partner with local municipalities to create a bursary program for post-secondary students in exchange for a commitment to return home after graduation.

On March 12, 2025, Clearview officials agreed to collaborate with the Town of Stettler & the County of Paintearth on the development of a “Rural Return to Service Bursary.”

The incentive could provide financial support to local post-secondary students if they return to the region to work after graduation.

Over the coming weeks, Clearview will be working to draft a framework, with a goal of presenting the program to area councils for approval in September.

The idea has also been discussed with the “Health Professionals Attraction and Retention Committee”, which has voiced interest in encouraging local students in healthcare-related fields to return to the Stettler area.

A motion was made during the Town of Stettler council meeting on July 22 to appoint a member of their staff to assist with developing the bursary.
