The County of Stettler has awarded a $99,518 contract to a Sylvan Lake firm to develop an online economic and skills development dashboard.
Council approved the project at its Aug. 13 meeting, selecting C4ner Consulting after receiving 17 proposals from firms across Canada & the United States.
The dashboard will give businesses & residents a centralized tool for accessing economic development support.
It will include an inventory of the county’s assets, major transportation routes & options for moving goods. It’ll also provide information on small business training & skills development workshops.
Funding comes from the Small Community Opportunity Program, which provided $90,000. The county contributed an additional $10,000, bringing the total budget to $100,000.
The dashboard is part of the county’s broader economic development plan, which aims to attract growth in industries aligned with regional priorities.
Questions were asked at council if this work would overlap with the Stettler Board of Trade’s mandate. Administration explained they would be consulted for input on the project.
