Alberta’s Chief Medical Officer of Health has shared updated guidance as we head into the school year. Here’s what families need to know at a glance—please refer to the linked documents on this page for full details.
- Immunization is your best protection. Children should have two doses after 12 months of age.
- If your child is sick or exposed: Stay home and call Health Link 811 before visiting a clinic.
- At school: Public Health will work with schools to limit spread. Students with two doses are considered protected; those not protected may be asked to remain home during an exposure period.
- Check records / book immunizations: Text “vaccine record” to 88111 or call the measles hotline 1-844-944-3434.
