Nominations for the 2025 municipal elections closed at noon on September 23, with a mix of incumbents & newcomers vying for seats in the County of Stettler.
With no other candidates running in Botha-Gadsby, Larry Clarke will be acclaimed for Ward 3 – Botha-Gadsby.
James Nibourg will also be acclaimed as the only candidate running in Ward 4 – Erskine-South Warden.
Meanwhile, Ward 1 will have a new councilor as Les Stulberg has decided to retire.
Ernie Gendre is also retiring as the representative for Ward 5, which means the Stettler seat will have a new elected official.

A candidates forum is set for October 8, from 7:00 p.m – 9:00 p.m at The HUB at the Stettler Recreation Centre.
Advance Polls will be held at the County of Stettler Administration Building on October 16 & 17, from 10:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.
