Residents of Ward 4 in the Clearview School Division will have a chance to hear directly from local school board candidates at a forum Wednesday evening. (Oct. 8)
The event, hosted at the HUB upstairs at the Stettler Recreation Centre, opens its doors at 5:30 p.m., with the forum scheduled from 6 to 6:30 p.m.
Two candidates are vying for the Ward 4 trustee position, which represents Botha and Byemoor: incumbent John Schofer & challenger Daram Van Oers.
In Ward 5, which covers Castor, two candidates are contesting the available trustee seat: incumbent Erika Grice & Wendy Coppock.
Several wards have acclaimed trustees for the 2025–2029 term. In Ward 1 (Donalda and Erskine), Guy Neitz was acclaimed, while newcomer Barbara Gano was acclaimed in Ward 2 (Big Valley).
In Ward 3 (Stettler), Rebecca Scott & Greg Hayden were acclaimed for the two positions. Shauna-Lee Thomas was also acclaimed in Ward 6 (Brownfield & Coronation).
The forum gives residents an opportunity to learn more about the candidate’s priorities ahead of the October 20 school board elections.
