Advance voting opens today for the Town of Stettler’s 2025 municipal election.
Residents can cast their ballots from Oct. 14 to 17 at the Stettler Town Office (5031 – 50 St.), between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m.
The vote follows a well-attended candidate forum held on Oct. 9, where residents packed the HUB to hear from those running for mayor & council.
The forum featured both mayoral candidates, incumbent councillor Gord Lawlor & Dean Lovell, founder of the Stettler Needs Doctors initiative.
Issues such as doctor recruitment, fire services & housing were front and centre of the discussion.

Lawlor, who has served two terms on council, said he was pleased by the strong community turnout & quality of discussion.
“The volume of people in the room & I can only imagine the number online, shows that residents care deeply about their community,” Lawlor said. “Everyone benefited from the information they received tonight.”
Lovell said the event offered valuable insight into voter priorities. “There were some really good questions & the answers gave a clear perspective of each of the council & mayoral candidates,” he said. “Hopefully, the public got something out of that.”
Election day is on Monday, Oct. 20, with polls open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Stettler Community Hall.
