Alberta RCMP Press Release – October 15, 2025
This Thanksgiving long weekend, the Alberta RCMP participated in enforcement initiatives as a part of the Canadian Association of Chiefs of Police’s #OperationImpact2025, a campaign aimed at making Canada’s roads the safest in the world.
This year’s theme was “Safety is in MY hands.”
While patrolling Alberta’s provincial roads this past weekend, the Alberta RCMP issued 1,918 tickets.
55 tickets were issued for distracted driving, 13 tickets were issued for seatbelt infractions, and 841 tickets were issued for speeding.
Additionally, 106 drivers were removed from the roads for being impaired due to drugs and/or alcohol.
There were 45 collisions which resulted in injuries, though zero collisions resulted in fatalities.
“The Alberta RCMP would like to remind drivers that traffic safety is everyone’s responsibility,” says Sgt. Darrin Turnbull, Alberta RCMP Traffic.
“We would like to thank those who helped keep themselves and others safe by following the rules of the road this Thanksgiving.”
