The Festival of Lights returns this week with five days of community fundraisers in support of the Stettler Hospital & Care Centre.

The 28th annual event runs Nov. 25-29 at the Stettler Community Hall, with a silent auction & Christmas market of local handmade goods.

Festivities begin Tuesday with the ATCO pancake breakfast from 9 to 11 a.m., while a seniors tea runs Wednesday from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.

Evening activities include a Christmas spirits gathering on Tuesday & an art & cheer event on Wednesday.

Thursday features the Burgers & Beer night from 5 to 7 p.m., while Friday’s Holly Jolly Lunch runs 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The week concludes Saturday with the Christmas gala, dinner & live auction. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. with dinner served at 6:30 p.m.

The silent auction is open for public bidding from Tuesday to Thursday, noon to 5 p.m., & Friday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

All proceeds from the Festival of Lights support local health-care services through the Stettler Health Foundation.

The volunteer-run festival has raised more than $1.5 million since its inception, with proceeds this year going toward the purchase of an Olympus endoscopy tower.
