County Reeve Larry Clarke Elected To RMA Board

County of Stettler Reeve Larry Clarke has been elected to the board of directors for the Rural Municipalities of Alberta for the 2025-26 term.

The announcement was made during the county’s Nov. 26 council meeting. 

Clarke will represent District 2 on the seven-member board of elected officials from rural municipalities across Alberta.

RMA, which represents 69 counties & municipal districts, advocates to the province on issues affecting rural communities. 

Clarke thanked the council for supporting his nomination, noting the board deals with key legislative files tied to purchasing and insurance programs.

His election was part of RMA’s annual board appointments, which include four returning members & three newly elected directors. 

Kara Westerlund, deputy reeve of Brazeau County, continues as president, while Jason Schneider, reeve of Vulcan County, was acclaimed vice-president.

Other directors for 2025-26 include Kelly Christman (County of Newell) in District 1, Josh Bishop (County of Wetaskiwin) in District 3, Karen Rosvold (County of Grande Prairie) in District 4, & Gene Hrabec (Beaver County) in District 5.
