The Town of Stettler council has approved its annual staff-recognition initiative, meaning employees will again receive $400 in Heart of Alberta Dollars this holiday season.

The move approved Dec. 2, continues a program first adopted in 2007; now costing the town roughly $28,000 a year.

The annual amount has increased over time, rising from $250 in the program’s early years to $400 in 2023 & 2024.

Heart of Alberta Dollars are local spending vouchers that can be redeemed at participating Stettler businesses through the Board of Trade’s shop local campaign.

The initiative is intended to push funds back into the community & support local economic activity.
