The Stettler Community Hall is set for its first major flooring overhaul since opening over three decades ago.
During its Feb. 3 meeting, Stettler town council awarded a flooring replacement contract to Stettler Flooring and Paint.Â
The project, valued at $24,806.66 excluding GST, will replace nearly 2,750 square feet of linoleum flooring in the facility.
The scope of work covers the main entryway, coat room, buffet area, kitchen & bar.
Council also approved a 15 per cent contingency of $3,720 to cover potential issues during the tear-out process.
The project is funded through the town’s 2025 capital budget, which had initially set aside $35,000 for the improvements.
The decision followed a bidding process between two local companies: Stettler Flooring and Paint & Prominent Flooring and Tile.Â
Onsite meetings were held with both bidders to ensure project expectations were met, including the removal & disposal of old materials, subfloor preparation, & new trim installation.
Since opening in October 1994, the Stettler Community Hall has hosted over 500 weddings, along with numerous fundraisers, services, concerts, & monthly blood donor clinics.
The work is scheduled to be completed no later than April 30, 2026.
