After sweeping the first two series in the ECSHL playoffs, the Imperials are back in the championship series and will battle the Wainwright Rustlers for the Ralph Wiest Memorial Trophy.
The Waintwright Rustlers eliminated the Irma Aces in the semi-final round, 3 games to 1.
Stettler and Wainwright are the two largest communities in the East Central Senior Hockey League, and both draw good crowds to their games.
The Rustlers posted on their Facebook page that more than 1,000 people were in attendance for game 1 and over 800 were in attendance for game 3.
It’s a two-hour commute between communities, so expect both communities to have fans travelling to away games.
The schedule was released by the Imperials and can be found on their Facebook page and at the bottom of this story. The series will start this Saturday, March 14, at the Stettler Rec Centre, Blue Arena at 7:00 p.m.
