Clearview Public Schools 2026 Edwin Parr Nominee: Esther Nooijen

Clearview Public Schools Press Release:

Clearview Public Schools’ Board of Trustees has selected Esther Nooijen, a first-year teacher at Byemoor School, as Clearview’s nominee for the 2026 Edwin Parr Teacher Award.

The Edwin Parr Teacher Award (Alberta School Boards Association) recognizes outstanding first-year teachers who demonstrate excellence in Alberta’s Teaching Quality Standard.

Nooijen currently teaches Grades 4-9 Math/Science, Career and Technology Foundations (CTF), and Physical Education at Byemoor School.

“In her first year of teaching, Esther has demonstrated the professionalism, instructional strength, and leadership capacity typically seen in far more experienced educators,” said Krista Jewett, Principal of Byemoor School.

Commitment to students & the school community

Throughout her first year, Nooijen has contributed to student success and school culture both in and beyond the classroom, including:

  • Supporting extracurricular programming as a co-coach for Basketball and Track, and expanding student opportunities through additional activities.
  • Providing extra support for students through tutoring outside instructional hours.
  • Building student belonging and engagement through activities such as a recess knitting club and CTF Cooking.
  • Strengthening school-community connections through local involvement, including volunteering at community events.

Clearview Public Schools congratulates Esther Nooijen on this nomination and thanks all new teachers across the division for the energy, care, and professionalism they bring to students each day.
