A senior living near Donalda is facing a total loss after a fire swept through his off-grid property Tuesday morning.
Firefighters from Heartland Regional Fire were dispatched to the outskirts of the village on April 7 to combat the fire.
According to fire officials, high winds intensified the blaze, causing it to spread rapidly to nearby structures & several vehicles in the yard.
Crews from stations 1, 2 & 3 were able to bring the fire under control once on scene & reported no injuries after all occupants were accounted for.
The homeowner, identified by community members as a senior named Gary, lost his home & personal belongings in the fire.
A community-led fundraising effort has been launched to provide immediate essentials, including food, clothing & power equipment.

Heartland Regional Fire sent their thanks to the Coulee Tea House for providing food & hydration to the firefighters as they worked to contain the scene.
