The slow march towards spring has been causing issues across the County of Stettler road network, council heard on April 8.

Over a dozen roadways around the region are facing restrictions as the County has been backfilling roads with gravel to prevent washouts.

Public Works detailed the uphill battle they’ve been facing in recent weeks, due to the extended freeze-thaw cycle we’ve been seeing this spring.

The hope is a few days of dryer weather in the forecast will allow the road bans to be lifted as ag producers get set to start spring seeding.
