Construction To Begin On Downtown Park:

Stettler will soon be home to a Japanese-style garden & walkway on Main Street. Phase 1 of construction on “Okoppe Way” will go ahead, on the empty downtown lot located next to Brenda’s Cozy Cafe.

Council has awarded a tender to Hadley Concrete for $15,470.13, plus a $3,000 contingency, to begin concrete work on the pathway linking Main Street with the parking lot to the east.

A total of $72,000 has been set aside for the project, with tenders for landscaping, signage and shade covering to come to a future meeting.

The hope is to have the park finished in time for a dedication ceremony in 2025, to coincide with 35 years since Stettler was twinned with the town of Okoppe, Japan.
