When you saw the classic cars parked at the Community Hall or folks dressed up in poodle skirts or bell bottoms on Saturday, May 11, you might have wondered if you travelled back in time.

For the many who attended the Blast from the Past event, they got to do just that! Over 200 people came out to support this latest fundraiser hosted by the Kinette Club in Stettler with help from their fellow Kinsmen.

Dressed in clothes from their favourite decade, attendees were treated to an evening of nostalgic fun, which included entertainment by the band Aftermath, who kept the hall hopping with all the classics!

Guests could also enjoy the soda shop, which served up hotdogs, donuts and chips. Specialty boozy floats were available at the bar, which were a huge hit with the retro-loving crowd.

The Kinettes were thrilled with the community support for the new event.

Blast from the Past is one of many fundraising efforts by the Kinsmen and Kinette Clubs of Stettler for the major project that the clubs have committed to: the revitalization of the Rosedale Neighbourhood Park & Playground.

The goal is to begin work on the park in September 2024. To learn more about the clubs as well as their work in the community, please visit stettlerkin.com
