The Repair Café, held on September 21st, 2024, was a hit with Stettler residents, promoting sustainability and community engagement.

The event, designed to reduce waste by encouraging the repair of household items rather than disposal, attracted many attendees eager to give their belongings a second life.

Local volunteers were on hand to help repair everything from small appliances and electronics to clothing and more.

A total of 81 broken items were brought in and 69 were successfully repaired in four hours. By fixing items that might otherwise be discarded, participants helped keep valuable materials out of the landfill, supporting Stettler’s environmental goals.

With its combination of practical help and community spirit, the event was hailed as a success!

The Repair Café is just one of many fantastic initiatives and projects spearheaded by the Heartland Beautification Committee. A few projects of note include the annual Trash 2 Treasure weekend, Walk ’n’ Roll Challenge, and Community Gardens.

Their work has had a significant impact on the community. Their efforts beautify the town and create a stronger sense of community pride among residents.
