The Stettler Imperials won their second straight game on Saturday night at The Stettler Rec Centre. For the first time, the Wainwright Rustlers were in town. The Rustlers joined the East Central Senior Hockey League this season.
The Imperials started the game strong with a first-period goal from Rhett Shingoose and two more goals in the second from Dylan Houston and Erik Rost to make it 3-0 after two.
The Imperials had to survive a third-period comeback from the Rustlers as Kael Perkins and Mike Shirley would score in the third to make it 3-2. The Rustlers couldn’t get one more past Imperials’ goaltender Simon Thieleman and the Imperials would hang on to win 3-2.
Stettler outshot the Rustlers 39-22 on Saturday night.
