Applications for the Community Investment Program came before the County Council during their regular meeting in January. (Jan 8)
Seven applications, totaling $15,000 were received as of the Dec 31, 2024 deadline.

The policy created in 2021, provides guidelines on how funds should be disbursed to community groups and organizations.
Eligible events must be open to the public, benefit the community, and cannot make a profit. Council had previously asked administration to identify projects ineligible for grant funding under the program.
After much discussion, council passed a resolution to fund the upcoming Coyote Classic (Jan 25-26) with $1,500. The outdoor play area upgrades at the Sharebear Playschool will also receive $1,000.
Finally, the Donalda & District Ag. Society was granted $2,000 for their 50th anniversary celebrations, while the Endmoor Culture & Recreation Society will receive $3,000 for the Byemoor centennial celebration later this year.
Council also updated the policy to divide applications between one time and annual requests.
Stettler & District Home Support Request
Council also had a discussion about the application for Stettler & District Home Support.
The organization that runs Meals on Wheels & other services, had requested $5,000 under the Community Investment Program to offset travel costs for their volunteers who visit clients within the County of Stettler.
Councilors passed a motion to approve this request, and for it to instead be funded from the rural development fund.
