Proposed location for new daycare facility at 4818 62 St. (Formerly Jensen’s Interiors)

An application is before town council to build a new daycare facility in Stettler.

First reading on a land use bylaw amendment was given on Jan 7, to allow for daycare facilities as a discretionary use under commercial highway district zoning.

Alphabet Daycare Inc. is looking to convert the southern half of the building at 4818 62 St. (Formerly Jensen’s Interiors) into a daycare with a fenced outdoor play area within the parking lot.

Approval of first reading allows the development application to proceed before it is brought back to council for a public hearing.

The Town of Stettler’s Municipal Planning Commission also has a final say in discretionary uses approved under land use bylaws.
