The County of Stettler appointed a new agricultural fieldman during their meeting on September 10.
Administration had recommended that council appoint Robert Klatt to the position, effective October 1st.
Klatt introduced himself during the meeting, having spent the past eight years working with Big Lakes County to the north.
The role is a legislative requirement under Alberta’s Agricultural Service Board framework.
The agricultural fieldman serves as an inspector under the Weed Control & Agricultural Pests Act, as well as a soil conservation officer under the Soil Conservation Act.
Operations director Greg Jackson had been filling the role on an interim basis since February 2025.
