The County of Stettler council has approved a full upfitting of its new fire command unit, a one-ton crew cab pickup purchased earlier this year.

Administration had recommended the purchase of emergency lights, sirens, decals, and a truck bed insert with storage capabilities.

This will allow the vehicle to be used as an incident command unit, with enough storage for P.P.E., radios, tools & other equipment.

On September 24, county council approved the purchase of a truck bed insert storage compartment from Outwest Design & Fabrication of Lacombe, for a total of $16,590.

Emergency lighting, sirens, decals and other components will come from Jacked Custom Truck Installs of Red Deer, for a total of $35,283.91.

At its July 9 meeting, council authorized the purchase of a 2026 Ford F-350 Crew Cab XL pickup from Metro Ford Sales Ltd. of Tsuut’ina, for a total cost of $89,130.30.
