County of Stettler Press Release

The County of Stettler is pleased to announce our fire service has officially moved to a new location, and introduces Heartland Regional Fire as now fully operational.

The new County Station 1 is leased and located in the Heartland Business Centre and is staffed by 22 dedicated volunteer (paid-on-call) members joining our service from the previous joint station.

Together, these volunteers represent 161 years of combined fire service experience, not including our two full-time staff members who provide training and support for four regional fire stations.

These 22 members will work alongside, assist and support our three existing County fire stations, which rely on another 31 volunteer (paid-on-call) firefighters:

Station 2: Big Valley

Station 3: Donalda

Station 4: Byemoor

Each station is equipped with an Engine, a Tender-Engine (carrying 3,000 gallons of water), a Wildland/Rapid Unit, and a Rescue vehicle to handle a wide range of emergencies.

The County extends its heartfelt thanks to the Town of Stettler for its years of regional partnership in operating the Stettler Regional Fire Department.

“We look forward to the continued development of our commission model to better service our regional fire operations.

We will continue to work closely with the Town and our other mutual aid partners to provide excellent emergency response to residents and visitors, and to support each other wherever needed,” said Larry Clarke, Reeve for the County of Stettler No. 6.

“Residents can be assured the high level of professional, reliable, and responsive service they have always received will not change.

Dedicated community firefighters remain committed to protecting lives and property across the County with the same skill, care, and community focus they have always shown.

We would like to thank all of our dedicated volunteer firefighters for their continued professionalism and service to our communities. Their commitment and teamwork are the foundation of our success as we move forward,” added Reeve Clarke.
