Voters across the County of Stettler headed to the polls Monday to elect representatives in five of the county’s seven wards.

Walker, Hunter, Gano, Stevens & Adam will join the county’s seven member council for the organizational meeting on October 29, when a new reeve will be confirmed for the upcoming year.
Larry Clarke (Ward 3-Botha-Gadsby) & James Nibourg (Ward 4-Erskine-South Warden) were both acclaimed with no challengers.
The election race follows the October 8 forum where candidates discussed issues such as water infrastructure, lagoon capacity & tourism development.
Access to reliable water remained a central concern among both voters & candidates, with many highlighting the need for continued investment in regional water lines.
Health care & community safety rounded out the evening’s discussion.
The County of Stettler’s municipal vote took place alongside elections for the Town of Stettler & Clearview Public Schools.
