The Town of Stettler has awarded a preventative maintenance contract for overhead doors at town-owned facilities, approving the decision during its Dec. 16 council meeting.

Council authorized administration to enter into a service agreement with Comtec Overhead Door Experts for annual maintenance of overhead doors, with costs to be funded through the 2026 operating budget.

Administration told council the work has historically been handled by town staff, but was identified as a service that could be outsourced.

The scope of work includes 33 overhead doors, as well as 4 roller-style doors/gates at the Stettler Recreation Centre, firehall, public works shop & water treatment plant.

Two submissions were received: Comtec Overhead Door Experts, with a bid of $5,071.40, and Doormasters Inc., with a bid of $6,175.

Council accepted the recommendation & approved the contract for oiling & maintaining the overhead doors at town-owned facilities.
