County of Stettler Approves Herbicide Contracts For 2026 Season

The County of Stettler council has greenlit $72,098.05 in herbicide contracts to prepare for the 2026 agricultural season.

During the April 22 meeting, the county council awarded the purchase from three sources.

Advantage VM (Edmonton) & Veseris (Airdrie) will provide $32,585.61 & $14,776.66 in industrial-grade chemicals.

Additionally, the county allocated $24,735.78 to local Stettler vendors for herbicides sourced based on price & availability.

The total expenditure remains within the Agricultural Service Board’s $130,000 budget.

This year’s roadside spraying program will target the county’s northern zone, spanning Township Roads 40-0 to 42-0.
