More than $20,000 raised during the 2026 Stettler Tim Hortons Smile Cookie campaign is helping bring interactive, dementia-friendly technology to local continuing care residents.

The funds have paid for two new technologies at the Heritage House in the Stettler Hospital & Care Centre.

The Tovertafel is an interactive projector system designed for people living with dementia.

The technology turns any table or floor into engaging games that promote physical movement.

Heritage House has also installed an ABBY ambient activity system.

The wall-mounted console provides nostalgic activities such as turning a steering wheel, adjusting a radio knob, or petting a cat.

Both technologies were introduced as part of the Quality of Life Chrysalis Project, an initiative aimed at shifting how seniors experience continuing care.

The project is currently helping 26 central Alberta facilities transition from traditional clinical models to create more home-like environments.
