Press Release: Hon. Pierre Poilievre, P.C., M.P. (Battle River—Crowfoot)
This summer, Randy Hoback is travelling across Canada.
As Member of Parliament for Prince Albert and Chair of the Conservative Shadow Minister Committee on Canada-US-Mexico, he is meeting with businesses and community leaders to discuss the Canada–US relationship and recent developments related to CUSMA.
These roundtables are designed to help legislators better understand how changing trade and economic conditions are affecting Canadians, and gain local perspectives that will support a stronger, more resilient economy.
At a productive discussion in Stettler on July 9, Hoback heard about the real challenges facing rural communities.
Meeting with local leaders reinforced just how much the challenges in Canada–US trade affecting not only companies, but entire communities. When businesses face rising costs and uncertainty, it has a ripple effect on employment, investment and the families who depend on them.
At the event, organized by the Stettler Board of Trade, Hoback was joined by former Member of Parliament for Battle River–Crowfoot Damien C. Kurek.
The insights shared by Stettler’s businesses underscored the urgent need for stability in Canada’s trade relationships. Market uncertainty hits rural communities especially hard, affecting local jobs and household budgets.
Hoback and Kurek were grateful to all who participated and shared their perspectives. Their input helps ensure the voice of rural Alberta is heard as Conservatives work to strengthen Canada’s economy and support local communities.
Individuals and businesses in Battle River–Crowfoot with additional insights on CUSMA or the current state of Canada–US trade are encouraged to share their feedback with the Battle River–Crowfoot constituency offices in Camrose or Consort by emailing battleriver–crowfoot@parl.gc.ca.
